earth
she was still there. she'd been there for so, so long, swiftly moving in the same, repetitive path. she'd been birthed out of an explosion, so it was almost meant to be that her life was full of them. yet, there she was, feeling everyone she had ever given home to, everyone she ever let survive, die away. she could never meet her family. she just kept moving.
it had never been easy- one could never get used to death, only to pain. first it had been those drops of water, getting her body to cool down, and then there were so many creatures, so many times, when she'd burst out in anger or sadness, realised the impact of it, and cooled off. but every single time, the moment ended and everything was destroyed. new eras kept coming and coming, and as time passed, it became more and more difficult for her to keep all the memories inside her soul. the only thing that didn't change were the stars on the endless ceiling of the universe. she would never get to venture out there, going on and on- not without disrupting everything around and on her.
she stayed, never rebelling, as humans tore her skin apart, discovering the smallest caves and mountains. she stayed, even as they started plucking out all the forests, making new things out of it; it caused her so much pain, but after all, she was made for all of it. she stayed as people started making her skin a land full of waste, giving back the parts they had snatched, but never truly giving anything. she stayed as they stopped worshipping and thanking her, losing gratitude decade by decade. she stayed. she stayed while they stopped valuing her and started forgetting her.
she stayed, hoping all the pain would end someday, hoping that she, herself, would end someday.
